The stainless steel nib

The grip

With distinctive transparent grip. Ergonomically shaped grip area to enable writing for long periods of time without tiring.

The pen casing

Engraving in the style of the four houses:

All four models bear a fine laser engraving that refers to the house and picks up on its respective values.

Sturdy casing made from feather-light, high-quality robust aluminium anodised in various colours.  

The ink window

Window that shows how much ink is left in the cartridge.

The clip

Lid fitted with an automatic spring-action metal clip that’s chrome plated. 

The LAMY AL-star is the lightweight aluminum "cousin" of LAMY's bestselling Safari pens.   

Although looking almost alike in shape and design, with the exception of the smoke-colored triangular grip to ensure the best ergonomic performance, engineering an aluminum version of the ABS-plastic LAMY Safari is an entire project in itself, requiring substantial changes and revisions to manufacturing processes and design.  

The aluminum barrel makes the pen far more "engravable" and gives a more prestigious look and feel to one of the world's best selling fountain pens.

The LAMY AL-star is designed to work with LAMY T10 ink cartridges, or the Z24/Z28 ink converter that is recommended to be filled with LAMY bottled ink (T51, T52, or T53).
