M Nibs (All-round nib)
This nib suits almost everyone: the M nib from Lamy is an all-rounder suitable for most scripts and writing styles. This is why we equip our fountain pens with an M nib as standard. The secret is its rounded tip: no sticking, no scratching and a line that is neither too thick nor too thin. All-round nibs, completely rounded tips.
LH Nibs (Left-handed nib)
Especially for left-handed writers: the LH nib has the same properties as the M nib – with a small yet significant difference: it is slightly oblique making it ideal for left-handed writers who frequently tilt their hand when writing. The Left-Handed (LH) nib is essentially a Lamy M nib, but it’s ground at a slightly steeper angle and a little more rounded, so that the nib writes more reliably in a “push” motion, as you would do when writing left-handed. All-round nibs, completely rounded tips. LH nib is minimally bevelled (optimized for left-handers).
EF, F and B Nibs (Fine and broad nibs)
Writers with a straight grip will feel particularly at ease with these nibs: straight nibs are available from Lamy in sizes "extra fine" (EF), "fine" (F) and "broad" (B). Promotes straight writing posture. Straight-cut iridium ball.
Tip: when choosing the correct nib width the important thing is the size of your own handwriting: the smaller your script, the finer the nib should be. A larger script on the other hand will generally look better with a broad nib.
