The LAMY Noto is the recipient of the iF Industrie Forum Design award, the oldest independent design seal in the world and a symbol of outstanding design achievement - as well as the Good Design Award and the red dot Design Award.

In 2010, LAMY Noto was presented with the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, as a worthy successor to the LAMY spirit and LAMY pico, which won this prestigious ‘Design Oscar’ in 1996 and 2004 respectively.

The LAMY noto conquered the hearts of many lovers of design by storm. An almost provocatively reduced ballpoint pen designed by the master of the simple form. It didn’t take long for this model, with its triangular body and sophisticated clip solution, to win almost all of the design world’s most significant awards.  

The LAMY Noto was designed by Naoto Fukasawa, best known for his designs for Muji -- including as a famous CD player design in 1999 -- where he remains as a creative designer. The LAMY Noto retains the design pedigree of Fukasawa, who founded his own design firm IDEO, worked with many other well known brands such as Herman Miller, B&B Italia, Artemide, Magis, Danese and Boffi -- either in electronics, furniture , household appliances or sundries, and where many of his works are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He has been described by Bloomberg Businessweek as of one of the world's most influential designers.
